Market Overview

Polymer modification has transformed modern construction chemistry. Adding a carefully selected polymer emulsion to a cementitious mix dramatically improves flexibility, adhesion to difficult substrates, waterproofness, and crack-bridging capability — allowing thinner sections, faster application, and longer service life.

JCT supplies polymer binders to manufacturers of tile adhesives, waterproof coatings, renders and stuccos, concrete repair mortars, and flooring underlayments. Our VA-acrylic and styrene-acrylic grades are specifically formulated for compatibility with Portland cement, calcium aluminate cement, and lime-based systems.

Application Areas

Cementitious Waterproofing

Two-component (2K) and one-component (1K) polymer-modified waterproof coatings for below-grade walls, balconies, wet rooms, and podium decks. Requires crack-bridging and vapour management.

Recommended: JCT-A100, JCT-SA330, JCT-VA500

Tile Adhesives & Grout

EN 12004 class C2 and C2E tile adhesives for wall and floor tiles, including large-format tiles. Grout binders for improved stain resistance and reduced water absorption.

Recommended: JCT-VA500, JCT-SA310

EIFS & Render Systems

External insulation and finish systems (EIFS) base coats, reinforcing coats, and decorative topcoats. Requires adhesion to EPS/mineral wool, flexibility, and UV stability.
