Product Overview
Rheology modifiers are essential for controlling the flow behaviour of liquid formulations — from the in-can viscosity that ensures stability during storage, to the application viscosity that determines brushability, rollability, and sag resistance, to the final levelling that controls surface appearance.
JCT offers three thickener chemistries (HASE, HEUR, and cellulosic) to give formulators the flexibility to dial in the precise viscosity profile required for each application and application method.

Choosing the Right Thickener
HASE Thickeners
Hydrophobically modified alkali-swellable emulsions. Activated by pH adjustment. Excellent anti-sag and spatter resistance. Best choice for exterior and high-build systems.
Recommended: JCT-RT100, JCT-RT110
HEUR Associative
Hydrophobically modified ethylene oxide urethane rheology modifiers. Work via micellar network. Give excellent levelling and flow. Best choice for gloss and semi-gloss topcoats.
Recommended: JCT-RT200, JCT-RT210
Cellulosic (HEC)
Hydroxyethyl cellulose-based thickeners. Robust in high-pH and ionic environments. Compatible with cement and lime. Best choice for construction and tile adhesive systems.
Recommended: JCT-RT300, JCT-RT310
